Since the company's creation, Fashion Data has always been conscious of environmental issues. This was why they wanted to carry out an initial assessment of its carbon emissions in order to make a concrete commitment to the climate. Today, Fashion Data has earned its first badge towards its Net Zero trajectory!
Fashion Data uses data intelligence to improve the economic and environmental performance of fashion brands.
Thanks to its 100% Business and 100% Data SaaS solutions, addressing Customer, Product, Supply and Store issues, they help business teams to accelerate their transformation towards a new Fashion Business Zero Waste.
"Social and environmental responsibility are part of Fashion Data's corporate values. The completion of this assessment is only a first step to act concretely in favor of the climate, to commit collectively and continue to raise awareness for each individual employee."
Thanks to our solutions, we help our Fashion customers reduce their environmental footprint, but we also wanted to act internally for the climate. Before we could reduce our GHG emissions, it was essential to be able to measure them and see what our main emission factors were. This allowed us to better understand our impact and to structure our environmental approach to reduce our emissions in the long term.
The measurement solution proposed by Greenly is simple and intuitive. It is a recognized solution on the market that has obtained the French Tech Green 2020 label. Furthermore, their calculation methods are based on those of the Ademe, which guarantees their legitimacy.
It should also be noted that it has been recommended by other companies in our sector.
This first assessment allowed us to have a global overview of our emissions (both on our direct emissions related to energy, scope 1 & 2, and on the service providers and services used by the company, scope 3), as well as to understand the main emission items of Fashion Data.
By adding up all these emissions, Fashion Data had a footprint of 174t CO2e in 2020. Our main emission item is digital (69%), which is directly linked to our activity, followed by purchases of services (15%).
It is important to note that with a climate score of C, Fashion Data is among the 11% of French companies that have a score of C or higher!
The development of the action plan is underway. To reach our objective, we intend to involve all our employees.
As our digital usage accounts for nearly 70% of our carbon footprint, our first actions consist of significantly reducing these emissions by optimizing our cloud consumption and by choosing SaaS suppliers committed to this same approach, all while respecting our development and growth objectives.
